Acrylic-polyurethane varnish

This is a water-dispersion composition intended for painting furniture and objects made of wood, MDF, chipboard and even plastic. It is easy to apply and dries quickly. It also has good elasticity and wear resistance.

You can choose either a tinted or clear coating, in case you want to emphasize the wood structure. The same applies to the degree of gloss: there are matte, semi-matte, semi-gloss and glossy materials.

Acrylic enamel

Not all acrylic enamels are intended for processing children's furniture and toys, so pay attention to the certificates of conformity.

The compositions that are recommended for such work are characterized by increased elasticity, have water-repellent properties, and are resistant to ultraviolet radiation. They also come in varying levels of sheen, from glossy to matte finishes. And they are easily tinted in the chosen shade.

Acrylic lacquer

This is an option if you do not want to tint the wood, but only decide to emphasize its natural color.

Acrylic paint

Latex paint

• Oil-wax is an original coating for furniture, which often replaces varnish. A completely environmentally friendly substance that has high wearability and processing quality. The negative features are that the paint and varnish substance is not very widespread and is expensive.

• Nitro paints can completely replace all of the above options. Durable, bright, environmentally friendly, non-flammable and elastic. At the same time, the price of one can of paint is quite high.

What paint can be used to paint a baby crib? There are other analogues of similar dyes, which are not yet widely used in our region. These are unique developments that have many advantages.

Recommendations for restoring a crib

Often a baby inherits a bed from older brothers, sisters, friends and relatives. It does not always have a look that suits parents, and restoration has to be done. The following activities will allow you to update the appearance of your sleeping place in a short time:

1. Checking the possibility of coating restoration. It is important to determine whether the old coating contains lead. If this is the case, then the paint has already become embedded in the wood and cannot be removed. You should refuse such a sleeping place.

3. If there are large chips and cracks, they need to be primed. Polymer wood putty is suitable. It has no odor, is environmentally friendly and dries quickly.
4. After the putty has dried, the product is ready for painting. The technology is the same: first you need to apply a layer of primer, and then paint in two or three layers.

The crib can be used around the third day. But keep in mind that it will still smell a little, so it is advisable to calculate the work based on a longer drying time. The paint will completely harden within seven to ten days.
