Features of the product
There are several types of products from the Moment Joiner line; they differ in fillers, but in principle they have the same basic composition. It includes polyvinyl acetate (PVA) dispersion, dyes, plasticizers, and targeted additives. It is the latter that determine the strength of the glue and increase its moisture resistance and heat resistance.
The ability to withstand contact with moisture varies among different adhesives in this series. Some can only withstand short-term contact with water, others have a super strong degree of moisture resistance. In any case, adhesion to surfaces of all adhesives is high. The distinctive quality of the products is their environmental safety: they do not contain toxic or poisonous substances and can even be used in children's premises. All Moment Stolyar adhesives have hygienic certificates, quality certificates and compliance with European standards. The color of some products in the line is not the same as that of PVA, and even after drying, the area where classic glue is applied will resemble a section of light wood.
Other properties of the glue:
- shortened setting and drying period;
- absence of substances that attract pests;
- Completely invisible after drying.
The composition can be applied at any temperature above +10 degrees; there is also a limit on humidity - no more than 80%. Installation of wooden products at low temperatures causes a decrease in the level of adhesion, therefore the recommendations of the instructions must be followed. The approximate material consumption is 150 g/sq.m. m, in some cases it may increase. After complete drying, the adhesive joint becomes suitable for coating with varnish or paint.
Varieties
Different adhesives are not the same in cost, setting period and time until the products are ready for use, and in shades. Types of adhesives from the “Moment Joiner” line, which are presented in construction and hardware stores:
- "Moment Joiner Express". A universal product, suitable for all types of wood. The glue has proven itself best when working with wood fiber, particle boards, and natural veneer. The composition is moderately moisture resistant. It has an accelerated drying rate, setting time depending on the moisture content of the wood and air temperature varies from 10 to 15 minutes.
- “Moment Joiner Super-PVA” (class D2). This product is no less high-quality than the previous one; it glues all types of wood, as well as laminate, chipboard and fiberboard. The glue can is bright red in appearance, so it is easily recognizable. Its texture is transparent, and after drying the composition is not at all noticeable on the products. You can work with the product only in dry rooms or at moderately high humidity; it has low moisture resistance. 20 minutes is enough for complete setting.
- “Moment Joiner Super-PVA Waterproof” (class D3). This glue retains the properties of the previous one, but has an increased moisture resistance rating. Also, “Moment” of this class has excellent cold resistance: it can withstand many defrosting and freezing cycles without losing quality. You can work with glue on wood and laminated substrates. Most often it is used to work with products in the bathroom, toilet, and kitchen.
- "Moment Joiner Universal". Classic glue, which is a water-dispersion composition, is suitable for any type of wood, wood products, and combined materials. Consistency – translucent, color – beige. The initial setting index is 30 kg/sq.m. cm. After drying, there are no cloudy spots, streaks, or colored highlights left on the product. The product provides a strong, durable connection of parts. To improve the quality of adhesion, you need to fix the surfaces for at least 20 minutes.
- "Moment Joiner Instant Grip." The composition of the product contains acrylic additives, due to which the time for the glue to set is reduced. This mounting tool only takes 10 seconds to secure the products together. It is easy to apply the glue; after drying there will be no traces left on the surface. The adhesion of the composition is enhanced, so it can be used for gluing wood to other materials, for example, plastic, metal. The product can withstand at least five cycles of freezing and defrosting.
Advantages and disadvantages
The advantages of different types of funds are also different. For example, the level of moisture resistance of “Super-PVA Waterproof” is very high; it practically does not react to a humid environment, while “Universal Glue” cannot boast of this property. Most adhesives can withstand temperatures up to +70 degrees, which is very convenient when working with veneer that needs to be heated during installation. The cost of “Moment” is low, it can be applied in a thin layer, this makes the product economical.
Other advantages of the composition:
- versatility, suitability for a huge number of materials;
- invisible after drying, no need to remove stains, stains, smudges;
- fast setting;
- environmentally friendly, no harm to health;
- excellent adhesion indicator;
- reduction of time for repair or installation of products.
The adhesive contains no components that could damage the structure of wood, artificial or combined materials. The adhesive joint is very durable; it will not collapse over many years of use.
“Moment” also has its drawbacks. The humidity of the material must be strictly controlled before starting work. If it exceeds 18%, it is better not to use gluing: adhesion and the quality of the adhesive joint will greatly decrease. The air temperature during installation must be sufficient (from +10 degrees), otherwise the drying time will seriously increase. The disadvantages also include the weak water resistance of class D2 glue, which can only be used for products located indoors and not in contact with water.

- Such adhesives are used to hold plastic together, but it does not work on all such surfaces. Although the instructions do not indicate this, it is recommended to carry out a test gluing.
Instructions for use
In order for the strength of the adhesive composition to be high, it is necessary to follow the rules for using glue for wood and wood materials Moment Joiner. Order:
- Processing of workpieces - burrs, dust, and shavings should be removed from the surface. The planes, including those for veneer coating, must be properly sanded. Parts must be carefully adjusted.
- Afterwards you can open the container with glue. It should be applied to both surfaces in a thin layer. To distribute as evenly as possible, you can use a special brush.
- After application, leave the glue to initially gain strength for 10-15 minutes.
- After the specified period, connect the parts together. In order for everything to go well, it is better to make connecting grooves in advance.
- The glue dries within 24 hours. After this, you can remove any remaining glue by cutting it off.

PVA glue Moment joiner: description, characteristics, rules of use
Glue moment carpenter
The most universal PVA glue for wooden bases of any origin, be it hard wood (oak, ash, beech, walnut, etc.) or veneer, MDF, chipboard, is Moment Joiner. It is also well suited for gluing leather, fabric, paper and even some types of plastic. That is why it is very popular among both professional workers and home craftsmen. We can say that its versatility has captivated many craftsmen. This heat-resistant, quick-setting, high-strength adhesive composition is widely used for repairing and assembling furniture, gluing laminate, veneer, various accessories and other types of construction work. High adhesion is achieved through the use of PVA in the dispersion, as well as various additives, plasticizers and dyes.
Using PVA glue Moment joiner
It should be noted that a strong connection of the glued parts is achieved within the first 5 minutes after pressing. At the junction, an elastic, moisture-resistant seam is formed that is practically not subject to aging. With strict adherence to the instructions for use and operating rules of the product, maximum durability of the adhesive joint is achieved.
Basic instructions for use:
- Before gluing the parts with Moment Joiner glue, it is necessary to prepare the surface by removing all dirt and dust, and also degrease it with acetone or another solvent.
- Recommended moisture content of the wooden base is 8-12%. With higher wood moisture content, the setting time increases.
- It is recommended to carry out work at room temperature, about 200C.
- Apply PVA in a thin, even layer using a clean brush or roller. When gluing wooden parts, the adhesive composition is applied to both surfaces to achieve higher adhesion.
- After applying PVA glue, it is necessary to firmly press the surfaces together within the first 10 minutes, after which they can be left under pressure for up to 24 hours, often this time is enough for complete hardening. It is worth noting that, of course, the initial clamping force is important.
- Follow the directions for use on the label. Depending on the composition of the glued material, the setting time, as well as the application temperature, may vary.
- Do not use glue after the expiration date, because After this period, the properties of the glue are lost, adhesion and strength of the connection decreases.
In essence, this is a highly professional composition accessible to any user. Available in convenient packages, from large buckets - 30 kg, to small tubes - 250 g. Small packages are equipped with special caps, which greatly simplifies handling and reduces losses. The adhesive composition is from white to yellow, of medium viscosity.
Glue storage conditions
PVA Moment Joiner must be stored at room temperature, in tightly closed packaging, for no more than 2 years from the date of manufacture. Protect from high humidity and direct light. When frozen, it loses its properties, so you should not overfreeze it.

You can verify the harmlessness of the product by reading the information from the quality certificate. By asking the seller for a certificate of conformity, you will be able to understand that the “Stolyar” glue meets European standards.
Consumer Reviews
When making various objects and furniture from wood, nails are not always used to connect elements. According to consumers, the aesthetic appearance deteriorates if there are extra holes on the surface. In this regard, manufacturers try to abandon them whenever possible, using other connection methods.
An excellent alternative to screws and nails is Moment Joiner glue. According to home craftsmen, in terms of grip it is only slightly inferior to metal products, but remains invisible after the product is completed. Consumers like that the glue does not contain impurities that could disrupt the natural structure of the wood.
A few more consumer opinions
The composition can be used to work with any material of this type. Which is what customers really like. The composition is not afraid of pests and is resistant to high temperature and moisture. With its help, according to customers, you can not only assemble new furniture, but also repair finished products.
Specifications
The described glue can be used for gluing:
- sheathing;
- fabrics;
- foam rubber.
With its help, products are completely assembled from pre-made blanks. In this case, no trace of fastening elements remains on the furniture, which improves aesthetics. The material has an increased water resistance class according to the international classification. It is able to withstand temperatures up to + 70 °C. It has a high adhesion density and is characterized by rapid setting after application.
The application temperature should not be lower than +10 °C so that the composition does not thicken, because under such conditions it quickly loses its characteristics. The average consumption of Moment “Joiner” glue is 150 g per square meter. After the joint hardens, it takes on the color of light-colored wood. If necessary, dry glue can be painted or varnished on top after hardening.
Release forms
If you want to achieve a high drying speed, you should purchase glue marked “Express”. It contains additives that accelerate the evaporation of the solvent. As a result, only solid fractions remain. Glue is used for small parts, because it is not as reliable as the standard version. With its help, you can glue edging or decorative elements that are usually not subject to high loads.
Glue Moment "Stolyar" is offered for sale in five packaging options. If you want to purchase the composition for household needs, a 125-gram tube is suitable for you. With its help you can repair furniture in your home. The spout in the package has a structure that allows you to control the consumption of glue and store it after use. There is no risk of the glue drying out.
You can choose jars that contain 250 and 750 g. They are usually purchased for the needs of a small carpentry workshop. Usually this “Stolyar” glue lasts for a long time, because on average a little mixture is used for one product. There is no point in purchasing more capacious packaging, because they can simply dry out. Large furniture factories require 3 kg or 30 kg buckets. The factory produces several dozen pieces of furniture every day, so the product will be used up quickly.
Instructions for using glue
No special knowledge is required to work with glue. You just need to follow the technology and be more attentive to preparing the workplace. Before you start applying the “Joiner” glue, you should process the workpieces. They should be free of shavings, wood dust and burrs. The surface must be sanded and leveled, as imperfections may reduce adhesion.
Before final work, it is necessary to carry out docking without mounting material. This is necessary to understand whether additional processing will be required. Once everything is ready, you can open the container with glue and apply it to both surfaces to be joined in an even, thin layer. To achieve maximum uniformity, use a soft bristle brush.
After the Moment Joiner glue has been applied, the parts are left for 15 minutes in the open air. It is not recommended to walk around the table during this so as not to raise dust. It should not settle on the surfaces to be glued. First, all sawdust and shavings that may interfere with normal gluing should be removed from the parts. Once the treated surface has settled, you can begin joining.
To ensure proper alignment of the parts, it is necessary to prepare guide grooves. If you hit them, it means that the element has fallen into place. The products are pressed against each other with maximum force. The glue should then dry within 24 hours. If necessary, after drying, you will need to remove the remaining mixture mechanically, only then can you begin the final processing of the furniture.
Purpose and reviews of Express glue

Glue moment joiner, characteristics and instructions
When repairing or assembling furniture, wooden models, laminate and other materials of such a structure, it is necessary to use glue - “Moment Joiner” is suitable for these purposes. In addition to the above materials, it is used when working with veneer, coarse fabrics, cardboard, fittings and plastic. It earned trust, so it became a common wood glue.
Characteristics
The main component of the Moment Joiner glue is PVA dispersion, the second most important is the plasticizer. Some additives increase bond strength and resistance to high and low temperatures. The material is tinted.
This set of components determines the important characteristics of the glue - it sets quickly, the strength reaches an average value after 5 minutes, and good heat resistance. Suitable for any type of wood, except that dense ones need to be processed more carefully.
Preparing for work
According to the instructions, before directly gluing the surfaces of interest, they must be properly processed in order to obtain a good base for applying “Moment Joiner”.
The surfaces being glued together must be thoroughly cleaned of dust, sawdust or other debris. The fit of the parts must be tight. If work is carried out with wood, then its humidity should not exceed 8-12%, otherwise the setting time will increase.
Some types of wood are treated with a solvent before gluing - this helps remove excess fat from the surface and increase the strength characteristics of the gluing.
Instructions for glue “Moment Joiner”
- If a thin gluing seam is required, the tip of the nozzle is cut off accordingly. The more layer needed, the more is cut off;
- Apply a thin layer of glue to one of the treated surfaces. To level the layer along the length of the material, use a spatula, roller or brush. If hard wood is glued, then glue is applied to the other surface in the same layer;
- The surfaces are pressed against each other, and wait at least 10-15 minutes for the glue to gain strength;
- The surfaces are clamped with improvised means or heavy objects to ensure complete fixation.
Using Moment Joiner glue is easy, but you need to remember that you cannot use it if the ambient temperature is below 10 degrees. Moreover, the glue does not tolerate frost - it must be protected from low temperatures.

Instructions and operating rules
Before gluing the parts, you need to properly prepare both bases. To do this, the surfaces are cleaned of dust and dirt, old paint is removed from them, and grease is removed by wiping with alcohol and acetone. The optimal moisture content of wood is 8-10%, the limit of this indicator is 18%. At a humidity of 12-14% you need to be prepared for an increase in the setting time of the glue. It is advisable that the room temperature be about 20 degrees.
The procedure for working with glue is as follows:
- Cut the tip of the tube nozzle to a size corresponding to the width of the required seam. If you purchased “Moment” in a jar or bucket, open the packaging.
- Make sure the adhesive and materials being joined are at room temperature. It is better if they are heated to +23...+25 degrees.
- Apply a thin layer of the product with a brush, roller or rubber spatula. To achieve better adhesion, both surfaces should be treated with glue.
- Fix the products for 10-15 minutes for the glue to set. If the moisture content of the wood is high, this time must be increased. Vices and heavy objects can be used as clamps. It is best to leave the products in this position for a day - this is how long the adhesive seam needs until it is ready for use.
- Remains of glue that extend beyond the seam must be removed mechanically (for example, wiped off with a damp cloth).
You need to be careful when working with Instant Grip glue. The parts should be folded correctly right away, because they will set almost immediately. For all adhesives from the Moment Joiner line, it is the high-quality initial fixation that is important, so immediately after applying the product the strongest pressure is ensured.
