Cosmofen is a series of adhesive compositions for all occasions. Modifications (liquid plastic) are provided for working with window profiles and solving everyday problems. All compositions have low prices, accessible to craftsmen and large entrepreneurs.
If we talk about the advantages of Cosmofen, it is necessary to highlight the following:
- Each bottle is equipped with a dispenser cap. The glue does not spill during operation and is applied at the right points;
- in closed packaging the consumer qualities of the adhesive composition are preserved. It can be used in a month or two.
If we talk about the shortcomings, it is necessary to highlight the following:
- ambient air temperature during operation - not lower than +50C;
- It is not recommended to glue parts exposed to heat. A temperature of +800C is enough to soften the seam;
- The glue base is ethyl cyanocrylate. During work, the room must be thoroughly ventilated. Otherwise, poisoning from toxic volatile substances may occur. Persons with allergies or asthma may benefit from wearing a respirator.

Liquid plastic for windows Cosmofen: types, instructions for use
Liquid plastic for windows Cosmofen quickly sets on treated surfaces and reliably glues various substrates. The Cosmofen line includes products with different areas of application, consistency, color and composition.
Description and scope
Liquid plastic Cosmofen is a one-component adhesive with low viscosity. When interacting with air and temperatures, it quickly changes its state of aggregation from liquid to solid, so it is necessary to install and fix the surfaces very quickly and correctly.
Manufactured in Germany by Weiss. The composition includes components for the resistance of the adhesive to moisture and UV radiation.
The one-component product contains solvents, fillers such as polyurethane, resins with an alkyd or acrylic base.
Additional components are plasticizers, modifiers, and other substances that enhance the effectiveness of Cosmofen.
Depending on the composition, the glue can be used on wooden, plastered, polymer, concrete and metal surfaces.
Used for interior and exterior work, in private and commercial premises. Used for fiberboard, MDF, chipboard, on painted, brick walls, plywood, composites and other surfaces, excluding floors. Cosmofen glues best to plastic, bases made of polyvinyl chloride, hard plastic, polystyrene, polycarbonate and plexiglass.
Possible application:
- for plastic windows it is used as an installation adhesive;
- for double-glazed windows and fixing auxiliary parts;
- for installation of slopes of plastic windows;
- to protect any type of metal transport (from rust);
- for sealing seams inside the pool;
- to eliminate corrosion on metal parts;
- for repairing a plastic window sill;
- for joining metal bases (acts like diffuse welding);
- for treating walls in rooms with high traffic;
- for sealing pipes;
- for fixing advertising banners.
Cosmofen glue creates a super-strong seam that is resistant to negative temperatures, has low thermal conductivity and high resistance to external factors.
Advantages
- It has a composition similar to PVC. It operates on the principle of diffuse welding, when mutual penetration of the materials being bonded occurs, the joint area will have the same color and unchanged structure.
- Resistance to solar radiation, heat, light, precipitation.
- Prevents the development of rot in joints in severe damp conditions.
- High strength seam.
- Eco-friendly and safe.
- The color of the adhesive seam remains unchanged for 15 years.
- Hardens quickly.
- It seals seams well, protects against the penetration of cold and drafts.
- Does not absorb odors.
- The hardened seam does not react to detergents.
- Resistant to low temperatures.
Flaws
- Quick adhesion to the surface is a minus for beginners. You need to work with the mixture quickly and correctly, since there is little time left to correct the position of the parts to be glued.
- The substrate to be treated must be completely dry. Only after complete polymerization can the seam be exposed to moisture.
- Some products are difficult to remove from the surface if accidentally applied. To remove excess you need a special solvent.
- Cosmofen is not good for gluing porous materials.
- Fixed, non-elastic seam.
- Cosmofen is highly flammable; fire safety regulations must be observed.
Range
Cosmofen products have different viscosities, which determines their scope of application.
For example, Cosmofen Plus glue has a medium viscosity, while its subtype Cosmofen Plus HV has a higher viscosity. You cannot replace products from this line with adhesives from the Cosmo series used for plastic (liquid plastic has a different operating principle).
Cosmofen PMMA for acrylic

Adhesive-sealant Cosmofen 345
Liquid plastic Cosmofen 345 is used to seal and seal seams on window elements made of rigid PVC. The adhesive connection is resistant to atmospheric conditions and UV radiation.
Cosmofen 345 does not crack, does not shrink strongly, does not spread, and fills joints up to 0.5 cm deep.
The main component is transparent silicone, so the sealant is used for gluing translucent metal-plastic structures.
You can glue wooden, concrete, stone bases. For an adhesive joint up to 2 cm wide, 8 g of sealant is consumed per linear meter. The glue is sold in PA cartridges weighing 305 g. Delivery from the manufacturer is carried out in boxes of 20 cartridges each.
Cosmofen Plus HV for PVC
Quickly glues hard PVC surfaces. Indispensable when installing PVC windows; it is used for fixing drains, protective strips, flashings, and closing parts. They attach panels, profiles, boxes, banners, and other advertising structures. PVC glue is used for plumbing work, but should not be used on water pipes.
This is a one-component, colorless mixture with high viscosity. Has a gel-like consistency. Based on polyvinyl chloride and tetrahydrofuran. Contains UV stabilizers.
After curing, the seam is durable and resistant to ultraviolet radiation.

Cosmofen Plus S for PVC
It differs from other compositions of the Cosmofen series in color (it is white). Used for gluing to PVC windows, for plumbing work, in the manufacture and repair of advertising products, rain gutters, pipes (except pressure ones).
Has the same technical characteristics. If the mixture is too thick, then when using it, it can be diluted with Cosmofen 380.
Instructions for use
The surface to be glued or repaired is cleaned of dirt, dust and grease stains. Afterwards, the intended joint is degreased with Cosmofen 10 or 60. For cleaning or degreasing, lint-free rags are used that do not leave marks on the surface. After complete drying, proceed to gluing.
- The glue is carefully squeezed out from the tube into the joint of the parts along the entire length.
- The substance does not smear or rub in.
- Whenever possible, the parts are pressed together.
- Time is expected until complete hardening (indicated in the instructions).
- The position of the parts can be adjusted within the first seconds after application.
Cosmofen should be used at t=+5...+25 °C and humidity no more than 60%. You can put a load on the glued parts no earlier than after 16-20 hours. Average consumption per 1 sq. m. is 0.15 kg.
After completing the work, tightly close the tube of glue. Thoroughly clean the cap and neck of the package, otherwise residual glue may permanently bind them together.
Further surface treatment
You can remove Cosmofen residues from tools using a cleaner from the same manufacturer. If glue gets on the PVC base, wait until the drying time is complete and carefully cut off the excess with a thin blade.
Not completely dried glue can be wiped off with Cosmofen 597 or Cosmo CL-300.110 cleaner. But it is better to immediately carry out all the work carefully without any blots, because due to the high strength of the hardened composition, it is not always possible to remove its excess and stains.
Grouting of seams is started only after the composition has completely dried, so as not to break the tightness of the seams.
Restrictions on use
- Cosmofen should not be used in places of constant direct contact with liquid. It is only applicable in conditions of occasional wetness.
- If surfaces that are too porous are to be treated, they are pre-coated with a special compound.
- Aluminum parts are pre-treated with a special solution so as not to reduce the quality of the connection.
- When gluing polypropylene or PET, the strength of the joints may be reduced.
- When applying glue to surfaces with different thermal expansion, there is a high risk of parts detaching.
- You cannot seal a PVC window pane.
- When joining foam plastic, Cosmofen is applied in a thin layer so as not to deform the surface. Under a thick layer, the foam may fall off.
Specifications
“Cosmofen” is a one-component adhesive composition based on cyanoacrylate. The glue consists of an active substance that is completely ready for use. There is no need to mix it with other components before work.
The instructions for use provide a clear description of the technical characteristics of the adhesive composition.
The holding time of surfaces glued together is a matter of seconds. The time for final polymerization of surfaces with each other ranges from 6 to 16 hours. It depends on factors such as the temperature at which the gluing process occurs and the structure of the material on which the adhesive composition is exposed.
It should be noted that high air humidity significantly increases the time for final gluing of products.
When the adhesive composition hardens, it forms a uniform transparent film that is completely invisible. All products, after gluing with Cosmofen, are not afraid of environmental influences and sudden temperature fluctuations, and can withstand high temperatures of up to 80 degrees.
The thermal stability of Cosmofen lies in the ability to resist the occurrence of cracks under all possible cyclic temperature changes.
in packages of 20, 500, 200 g.
You can buy glue at various hardware stores.
Cosmofen glue is always available at specialized retail outlets selling radio components.
Advantages and disadvantages
Cyanoacrylate has a huge range of positive qualities when used, and although there are disadvantages, they are so insignificant that you don’t pay attention. Cosmofen adhesive for windows is characterized by the following features:
Pros of Cosmofen sealants | Cons of liquid plastic Cosmofen |
The gluing time is minimal (up to 10 seconds), complete consolidation occurs within 16-20 hours. | The glue hardens quickly; after applying it, the surfaces need to be connected to each other in less than a minute. |
The glue is not affected by ultraviolet rays and, as a result, does not fade. | Does not stick to wet surfaces and loses strength if the object is constantly exposed to water. |
Cosmofen is non-toxic to the environment and is an ecological substance. | It dries quickly and is difficult to remove from unwanted places (for this you need a special product - COSMOPLAST 597, which washes off glue that has not yet dried). |
Prevents the appearance of fungi, mold and corrosion without giving them a chance to occur. | Once the glue has hardened, it can only be cleaned mechanically. |
Long period of operation (up to 10 years). | Does not stick to porous surfaces. |
Creates a monolithic base between the window and the slope, presenting these surfaces as one whole. | Not used to produce plastic seams. |
Completely seals seams, protecting the room from drafts. | Surfaces must be pre-treated with a special product. |
Does not allow moisture to enter windows. | You must be extremely careful when using glue on objects with different thermal expansion. |
Does not absorb odors, unlike many building materials. | Highly flammable. |
Excellent resistance to detergents.
The glue is stable at sub-zero temperatures.
Small fragments are glued together instantly with Cosmofen; large fragments will have to wait a little. |
Considering these indicators, Cosmofen liquid plastic is universally suitable for any job, but it will be especially indispensable when working with windows; the main thing is to study the features of handling it.

How can you dissolve the glue if it has thickened?
During long-term storage, open glue can thicken, because already at the first contact with air and moisture it begins to harden. Most experts agree that if this happens, it is better to use the glue as soon as possible before it completely hardens, or simply throw it away.
You should not try to dilute it with water or soap solution - this will cause the mass to completely harden. You can add liquid cyanoacrylate glue to the bottle to the desired consistency. You can also try to dissolve the thickened composition with nitromethane or acetone, however, most likely, the result will be unsatisfactory, so you should listen to the advice of experts, throw away the thickened glue and buy a new one, since its price is low.
Instructions for adhesives
The instructions for using Cosmofen adhesive products coincide in many points with similar products from other companies. It is recommended to use glue in well-ventilated areas or in the fresh air. It is best to glue parts on previously cleaned surfaces to create a more even seam. If it is necessary to ensure accelerated gluing, you can additionally use the product Cosmo SP-860.120, which reduces the setting time.
What to scrub with
When using any type of Cosmofen glue, excess may get on the skin or adjacent surfaces; removing uncured glue will be much easier and faster, but the cleaning methods are the same in both cases:
- You can use a proprietary solvent from this series - Cosmo CL150. Apply the product to the porous part of the sponge or to a soft cloth; it is not recommended to use hard brushes to avoid scratches.
- The medical preparation dimexide can be used as a cleanser, which can be purchased at any pharmacy without a prescription. The liquid must be applied to the dried glue and removed with a sponge after a few minutes.
IMPORTANT:
Dimexide in its pure form is not suitable for removing impurities from the skin, as there is a high probability of burns. Glue from hands is removed with an aqueous solution of this drug.
Storage conditions
It is recommended to store any Cosmofen product in a dry, dark place, also out of the reach of children, try to keep the packaging out of direct sunlight and do not place it near heated surfaces. Depending on the size of the package, open adhesive fully retains its working properties for 1 to 6 months.
Security measures
When working with glue, you must use rubber gloves; if you are intolerant, you should also wear safety glasses. The product is flammable; it is not recommended to work near heating devices or fire sources.
Processing methods
Cured glue can be subjected to almost any mechanical stress. Sandpaper, a grinder, hand hacksaws and ceramic knives are best suited for processing. Electrical devices can also be used for these purposes, but it is recommended to use them only at low speeds.
What to scrub with?
Excess applied adhesive in places not intended for gluing should be removed using a special cleaner “Cosmo CL-300.150”.
Removal can also be done with the well-tested Dimexide product. A pharmaceutical product should be poured onto the glue-stained surface to help dissolve Cosmofen. You just need to wait a few minutes. Under the influence of Dimexide, the unnecessary glue will soften. Now it can be easily removed with a napkin or a piece of cotton wool. If you accidentally spilled a large amount of Cosmofen, then this soaking procedure must be repeated several times. “Dimexide” is an excellent product that will never spoil the outer surface of the processed materials or clothing. It will remove all glue completely without any residue.
In order to wash the adhesive off your hands, you need to dilute Dimexide with water.
In concentrated form, it can cause severe burns, so it must be used with great caution.
Basic rules for storing glue:
- if the temperature regime is strictly observed (from +15°C to +25°C), then the composition will last up to six months; at low temperatures (about +6) it will not lose its quality characteristics for up to a year;
- it is necessary to exclude high humidity around;
- the adhesive composition does not like the presence of direct sunlight;
- glue that is in damaged original packaging is stored for no more than 5 months.
Assortment of liquid plastic
The products produced in the “liquid plastic” line differ in viscosity. This leads to different areas of application, although there are no fundamental differences in the scope of use.
For example, Cosmofen Plus has a medium viscosity; its subtype Cosmofen Plus HV has a higher viscosity, so it bonds plastic surfaces more reliably. The materials in this series cannot be replaced with glue like Cosmo SL 660, 650 for plastic - they have a different operating principle.

Cosmofen 345 adhesive-sealant
Cosmofen 345 sealant is widely used for sealing seams on parts of plastic windows made of rigid PVC. The resulting compound will be resistant to atmospheric changes, precipitation, and exposure to sunlight.
The glue does not spread over the surface, does not crack, gives minimal shrinkage, and can fill seams up to 5 mm deep. Contains silicone and is absolutely transparent, so it can be used for connecting translucent metal-plastic structures.
Where else can I use Cosmofen 345? The composition perfectly glues products from the following materials:
- tree,
- stone - natural, artificial,
- concrete.
With a surface width of 20 mm, glue is consumed at the rate of approximately 8 g/linear meter.
Cosmofen Plus HV for PVC
Liquid plastic Cosmofen Plus HV is used for quick gluing of solid PVC products. Most often, the composition is used in the installation of plastic windows to attach drains, protective strips, flashings, and a number of closing elements.
In advertising production, adhesive is used for attaching panels, profiles, boxes and banners. The product is widely used in plumbing work, but not for joining pressure pipes.
The glue is one-component, colorless, transparent, looks like a gel, and has high viscosity. The composition of the product is a solution of polyvinyl chloride on tetrahydrofuran. The resulting seam will be highly resistant to ultraviolet radiation, since the composition contains special substances - UV stabilizers.
Main characteristics of the glue:
- viscosity - 4000 mPa/s,
- density - 0.99 g/cubic. cm,
- the working time of the glue after application at room temperature (+20 degrees) and humidity 50% is 60 seconds,
- achieving functional strength – 2 – 4 minutes,
- final hardening is a day.
Cosmofen Plus S for PVC
The Cosmofen Plus S liquid plastic product differs from the others in color - this glue is white.
The scope of use is similar - glue is used to connect parts of PVC windows (slopes, ebbs, slats). In plumbing work, glue is useful for rain gutters and pipes (with the exception of pressure pipes). The material is used for the manufacture of advertising products.
The technical parameters of the product are the same as those of other adhesives in the Cosmofen Plus series. If the viscosity of the material is too high, it can be diluted with Cosmofen 380.
Useful tips
High-quality connection of surfaces will ensure compliance with the recommendations of specialists on the use of glue:
- Hardening time will be minimal if the ambient temperature is not lower than +20° C and the humidity is not more than 60%.
- Using glue, you can connect any surfaces, and the seam will be colorless and almost invisible.
- The product is excellent for gluing only painted or chemically treated aluminum surfaces. If preparation for the gluing procedure is neglected, the connection will not be strong enough.
- It will take a few seconds to fix the parts; complete hardening is achieved after 16 hours.
- Most often, glue is used to repair shoes, as it provides reliable bonding of the materials from which they are made.
- The adhesive is not intended for joining products that during operation will be in constant contact with water, have a porous surface, or if a plastic seam is required.
- The quality of gluing depends on how well the surfaces are degreased before starting work.
- Cosmofen glue works effectively at temperatures from +5 to +80° C.
- The composition is excellent for gluing small parts or when quick fixation is required.
- The high degree of adhesion of the adhesive composition allows it to be used for joining metal elements.
- Polypropylene and A-PET are chemically inert, for this reason their gluing may be poor quality.
- Before working with glue, wear glasses and rubber gloves, as cyanoacrylate is a dangerous substance that can instantly glue your fingers or eyelids.
- It is advisable to use a respirator, as glue vapors can provoke allergic reactions.
- The composition is very flammable, so smoking while working with it is strictly prohibited.
After gluing is completed, ventilate the room thoroughly by opening the windows. It is not recommended that animals or small children be in the room at this time, as the product may have a negative effect on them.
How to use liquid plastic for windows
For effective adhesion of liquid plastic to working substrates, it is necessary to eliminate the causes of deterioration in adhesion. These include dust and dirt, oily substances and water. The metal surface must be treated with a special solvent or covered with a primer layer of varnish. At the preparatory stage, you can also use the “Cosmofen 10” or “Cosmofen 60” cleaner. Some craftsmen limit themselves to classic acetone if the base is chemically inert to it.
Cleaning must be done using lint-free materials. If there is no other option, then before applying the adhesive-sealant it is important to remove all fibers and threads from the surface.
The conditions for performing installation work are as follows:
- relative air humidity is about 60% (in summer the norm is 65% in a living room, in winter above 30%);
- temperature ranging from +5 to +20 degrees Celsius;
- good ventilation or additional ventilation due to toxicity, organic solvents.
Glue for plastic windows is applied to the finished base using a dispenser, which is included in the kit (this can be a tube with a nozzle or a tube). It screws onto the tube instead of a sealed cap. On average, about 150 grams of composition are consumed per linear meter. The recommended joint length according to the instructions is 30-50 mm. This will prevent uneven drying of the composition.
Individual parts must be fixed under pressure for 10-15 seconds. To prevent liquid plastic from sticking to your hands or additional tools used, you can use water and household detergent. Further adjustment of the position of the elements to be glued after this will not be possible. In the case of sealing assembly seams, additional pressing of the mass is not necessary.
Liquid plastic glue for PVC windows cannot be applied to polyurethane foam. The foam base shrinks over time. This will lead to deformation of the dry residue.
