Aerosol black matte paint - description, composition and characteristics

Description of spray paint

Black aerosol paint, like any other, is a special container where the coloring substance is placed, and it is sprayed due to gas pressure. Spraying helps to evenly distribute the paintwork over the surface. Also, to obtain a homogeneous mass, a ball is placed in the container, which mixes the composition.

Different spray nozzles can be used:

  • Wide – to obtain a ten-centimeter spray;
  • Medium - for a five-centimeter spray;
  • Narrow - can be from 0.8 mm to a four-centimeter layer.

There are replaceable nozzles on sale; they are selected according to the pressure level of the container.

Matte black design variations

This year, black and matte manicure takes one of the leading places. In any magazine you will find photos in such variations. Black is a classic of the genre, it is appropriate in most cases, it looks good on any length of nails, and it can complement the image with its presence. Matte is original and laconic, just everything that is in fashion now.

Are there any nuances to a non-glossy black manicure? There is nothing fundamentally new; we have already discussed everything. The only thing is that with long nails, many advise applying a glossy top coat to the smile area. Since, due to the length, the tips of the nails are subject to mechanical stress, the matte finish deteriorates faster, and the glossy top is more stable.

Regarding the length of nails, are there any restrictions? In my opinion, the dull effect looks good on both long nails and moderately short ones. But this is personal to my taste. In general, there are no restrictions. Therefore, you are free to choose for yourself.

You can create an incredible number of designs, for example, lunar (when we highlight the hole and the smile area, or draw a crescent near the cuticle) can be played out in different ways only with tops:

  • glossy smile zone;

  • matte nail plate + glossy hole;

  • 50/50 gloss + matte.

We just played with glossy and matte topcoat. Lunar manicure also looks good with silver, gold, and white. Especially in the shape of a crescent, since the accent seems to be small, but the hands will immediately play differently.

Let's list a couple of types of designs:

  • French manicure, which looks more original if there are a couple of nails in this style;

  • ombre or gradient;

  • monograms are always beautiful, the main thing is not to overdo it;

  • glitter and yuca flakes - on a black background under a non-glossy top it is mesmerizing;

  • geometry – as usual, stylish.

Despite the absence of any restrictions on the matte finish, it seems to me that it looks more elegant and noble when minimalism is maintained. One of the advantages of black is its compatibility with all colors, be it yellow or pink.

Composition and characteristics

Several different elements can be used as components; they are selected based on the type of paint. But they are dyes, binders, and diluents.

The properties of the product are affected by the density and elasticity of the layer. Drying of the coating occurs in 10-20 minutes, complete drying lasts from five hours to a day. The remaining product can be safely stored; it will not lose its properties while in the cylinder, but it is advisable to rinse the spray nozzle before storage.

Consumption per 1 m2

The consumption is influenced by the experience of the master, the type of surface and the type of coloring agent; if the paint has a low hiding power, then the consumption will be higher. In general, a can of black paint is more economical than standard liquid dyes. The average consumption varies from 150 to 200 grams per square meter of surface.

  • Concrete;
  • Plastic;

Advantages and disadvantages

Using aerosols makes it easier to get an even distribution of paint; rollers and brushes do not give a similar effect so easily. And you don't need to buy these painting tools. Also noted as advantages:

  • Cost-effective;
  • Drying speed;
  • Durability;
  • Ease of transportation;
  • You can create smooth color changes;
  • When closed, there is no smell of product from the cylinder;
  • Variety of palettes.

But aerosol paints also have disadvantages:

  • Some skills are required, otherwise it is difficult to avoid smudges at first;
  • Not applicable in cold and windy conditions;
  • It will not be possible to dilute the composition for less thickness;
  • When working, you must wear a mask or goggles;
  • You won't be able to change the color.

Matte black color in the interior

The clearest example of the importance of finish to color is the way black changes depending on its matte finish. Glossy black and matte black are like two different colors! Today we’ll talk about a matte variation of the classic tone.

Matte black represents the epitome of elegance and timeless classics. He is incredibly expressive, strong and artistic.

So, matte black as an interior color has many advantages, but perhaps the most important of them is the powerful “wow” effect it can create. Black is a very dramatic color in itself, but matte black looks much bolder. It reflects very little light, which makes it even stronger and more severe. This property was used in the kitchen design in the photo: the matte surface of the cabinets became the main semantic accent of the entire design.

Another great thing about matte black is how expressive it is. It gives the design a special graphic quality and even an artistic mood, and it doesn’t matter at all in what elements this color is embodied.

Interestingly, this effect occurs even when matte black is not a monolithic piece of color, but is presented in the form of an elegant print, such as the pattern on the wallpaper in this bathroom.

The graphic quality of black is undeniable, but it is in the matte format that it becomes especially bright. Elements such as furniture legs, small stands or shelves will look like full-fledged art objects if you paint them with matte black paint. By the way, this is precisely the technique that designers often use to give an interesting sound to interiors in restrained colors.

Just look around carefully: there are probably small objects in the interior of your home that can be made more graphic and expressive with the help of a dark matte shade.

In addition to decorative ones, there are also purely practical advantages of a black matte surface. On it, unlike black gloss, traces from touching with fingers are almost invisible.

It is for this reason that this color is especially good for working with the interior of the bathroom and kitchen.

Another interesting technique is to highlight certain points using deep black. For example, black handles against a white facade look contrasting and are clearly visible at the first quick glance.

Black always looks fresh and modern, always in the spirit of the times, and matte black is also very stylish. You can add a drop of black to any, even the simplest interior, and it will sparkle with new colors. If the base is created correctly, then such a design will be relevant for many years to come.

Matte black is an ideal choice for picture frames because it combines expressiveness with the ability to beautifully highlight a piece of art. If the view from your window can also be classified as a beautiful thing, you should definitely try “framing” it with matte black.

Matte black pairs very nicely with the warm metal that is incredibly popular today. The soft shine of brass and the depth of black is an ideal composition that will decorate both modern and classic interior styles.

Lastly, matte black is very easy to work with. This is a classic color and can be easily combined with other tones in the palette, as well as maintained in several decorative elements.

How to choose

To choose the right paint composition, you should know in advance what material will be painted, whether there is rust on the surface, requirements for stability, environmental friendliness and decorative properties. To understand the consumption and how many cans to purchase, do not forget about the number of layers that will be painted.

Technology of using aerosol for metal

To carry out high-quality painting, you need to start with preparing the base, and then proceed directly to applying the paintwork. The whole process goes as follows:

  1. If present, the old layer of paint is removed.
  2. I remove all contaminants and apply a degreaser to the iron.
  3. If required, use a corrosion converter.
  4. If the base is smooth, then it should be roughened, sanding is applied, and then cleaned from dust again.
  5. Protect areas that do not need to be painted with masking tape.
  6. Cover the surface with a primer solution.
  7. Shake the can, hold the paint at a distance of 20-30 centimeters, move smoothly, multi-layer application requires drying each layer.

If you paint a vertical object, then the movements are made from top to bottom. You can apply an acrylic-based varnish on top, but check the permissibility of this in the manufacturer’s instructions.

To carry out high-quality staining, you need to start by preparing the base.

Painting

When painting, the following requirements must be taken into account.

Necessary materials

Before starting work, you need to prepare a number of materials, including:

  • primer composition;
  • a respirator to protect the respiratory system and gloves to protect the skin from paint;
  • rag;
  • masking tape, paper (you can use newspaper) or oilcloth to prevent paint from getting onto unwanted areas.

Preparing the base

Before applying paint, we arrange the workplace, protecting with paper or oilcloth the areas that need to be left unpainted. Next, we prepare the surface for applying paint and varnish to it.

Work order:

  1. We remove the old coating layer (if any) from the surface.
  2. We clean the material from dirt, dust, rust and other contaminants. The purer the material, the better the adhesion (cohesion of dissimilar materials). If the dirt cannot be cleaned off with a damp cloth, we use household chemicals.
  3. If the surface is polished, you will need sandpaper to give the material some roughness. Sanding is intended to improve adhesion.

  4. We cover the boundaries of the area where we will apply paint with masking tape. We apply the tape carefully to prevent paint from flowing under it.
  5. Apply a layer of primer to the surface. When choosing a primer, we proceed from the type of paint and base material.

Note! You can start applying paintwork only after the primer has completely dried.

Painting

We carry out painting work in the following order:

  1. We put on safety glasses, a respirator and gloves.
  2. Shake the can so that the paint inside has the same consistency.
  3. We apply a test layer to the rough surface (unnecessary board, piece of metal, etc.) to evaluate the quality of the spray.
  4. Apply the first layer to the primed base. We hold the can at a distance of approximately 20 centimeters from the surface. We move the torch slowly, but the paint layer should not be too thick.
  5. We wait for the surface to dry (usually within 24 hours) and apply the second layer.

Note! If the paintwork material is intended for facade work, painting is allowed only in dry and warm weather, otherwise it will not be possible to achieve good adhesion.

At this point the painting can be considered complete. If the painting work is carried out in compliance with the technology, the paint layer will last for several years.

Security measures

Due to atomization, the paint elements come into contact with the air, so volatile elements can get onto the artist. To avoid health problems, the following rules for using an aerosol should be considered:

  • The room is well ventilated;
  • Wear protective glasses/mask and rubber gloves;
  • Fire hazards require working away from open sources of fire, and smoking nearby is prohibited.

Tips for choosing aerosols

To choose the appropriate option, you need to take into account some important points and conditions for the work:

  • The base material is important; different bases require different properties to obtain the required protection; operating conditions are also important; for outdoor use the requirements are higher than for indoor work;
  • Selecting a shade can make specialty palettes easier;
  • There are options with unusual effects, metallic, neon, etc.

Special palettes can make choosing a shade easier.

Black paint in cans is a convenient option for painting small surfaces, as well as protection from various environmental factors. It is important to make the right choice and proceed step by step when painting; the nuances described in the article should make the process easier.
